Ecology and Sustainable Development in Lighting Design
Lighting with Care for Nature
In the age of climate crisis, we face challenges that are transforming our reality entirely. Sustainable development is no longer just a promise.
The approach to lighting design has also significantly changed – today, it is responsibility and ecology that lead the way in the creation process, not only during planning but also construction. Production has become much safer not only for humans but also for the natural environment.
Energy-intensive solutions are becoming a thing of the past, giving way to modular lamps that allow for light distribution control (reducing issues of sky pollution and disruption of the wildlife life cycle). Highly energy-efficient LED technology provides longer fixture lifespan and lower failure rates.
Conscious Design for People and Nature
Designing in harmony with the environment doesn't necessarily mean compromising on the aesthetics of lamps or fittings. On the contrary – designers are increasingly turning to recycled materials, giving them a second life. They utilise natural materials, sourced from certified areas. Ultimately, they focus on modularity.
Light emitted only into a specific area allows the beauty of the landscape to be effectively highlighted without disturbing the wildlife or human circadian rhythms. Furthermore, modular systems can be incredibly easily adapted to a changing layout by replacing individual components rather than the entire lamp.
