The Messaggio collection by Dorota Koziara for illu at the Bokaro showroom in Szczecin

In mid-May, a presentation of the Messaggio lamp collection by Dorota Koziara, designed for the illu brand, took place at the Bokaro showroom in Szczecin. The event brought together architects and representatives of the interior design industry, and became an opportunity to inaugurate the new “Architect’s Zone” space.

The meeting had a distinctly personal character – Dorota Koziara herself spoke about the idea behind the project, the collection’s arrangement possibilities, and the role of light in contemporary interiors. The Szczecin presentation was a continuation of the series of events jointly organised by the illu and Bokaro brands following an earlier meeting in Poznań.

The illu brand was born from the need to create natural, emotional and harmonious light – one that works in synergy with space and people. The Messaggio by Dorota Koziara collection fits this philosophy perfectly, combining a distinctive form with functionality and extensive customisation options.

“I’m delighted that the Messaggio collection is being presented in successive cities and reaching new architectural communities. Meetings with designers and users are extremely important to me, because they make it possible to see how the design functions in a real context and how it is received.” – says Dorota Koziara.

Messaggio is a comprehensive collection comprising pendant lamps, wall sconces and floor lamps. The design was created with architects and interior designers in mind, for whom light shapes the atmosphere of spaces – both private and public.

“Messaggio is a collection that offers great design freedom – both in terms of form and composition. It can act as a subtle element of an interior or become its focal point, akin to the presence of a work of art. This extensive collection, comprising pendant lamps in three sizes, wall sconces and floor lamps in two heights, is an excellent tool for creating the atmosphere of both private and public spaces.

Working on this project, I wanted to give architects a collection that would enable them to design outstanding public spaces such as lobbies, hotels or restaurants, meeting functional needs while at the same time creating an interesting, welcoming interior atmosphere.” – says the designer.

The collection offers the possibility of controlling light intensity and colour, and in larger projects also programming lighting scenes. This means the lighting can be precisely tailored to the character of the interior and its function.

A key aspect of the design is the wide scope for colour customisation. Messaggio lamps can be made either according to Dorota Koziara's original colour palette or in the RAL system, with the option of using two different colours – separately for the interior and exterior of the fitting.

The presentation in Szczecin marks another stage in the development of the collaboration between the illu brand and the Bokaro network. In the near future, displays of the Messaggio collection and other illu lamps will successively appear in further Bokaro showrooms across Poland, enabling architects and clients interested in contemporary design and conscious light design to access the collection even more widely.
